StART Design Lab & Studio

StART Design Lab & Studio (SDL) is the newest addition to our programming. Launched in 2020, it provides StART Dreaming alumni with continued educational and professional opportunities intended to bridge the gap between college education and professional work experience.

To date, SDL has been able to offer a total of
11 different types of classes with 4-6 sessions
in each including songwriting, singing, acting, photography, financial literacy, goal-setting and achievement, and audition technique.

Developing An Original YouTube Series

MEET OUR DREAMERS is a new series under the StART Design Lab & Studio (SDL) program. This program gives our StART Dreaming alumni the space to create, share, and produce original content they can then add to their portfolios. Through SDL, the entire series was directed and produced by StART Dreaming alumni! MEET OUR DREAMERS features our talented alumni and let's them share their stories with you.

Recording at a Professional Music Studio

In 2022, we set our sights high and worked with a few StART Design Lab & Studio dedicated alumni to help them each record a song in a professional recording studio after receiving hours of private voice lessons with a professional vocal coach.

Performing Live at The Triad Theater

During the pandemic StART Design Lab & Studio offered virtual music classes with a professional vocal coach to our alumni. These lessons culminated in 2 performances that were filmed at The Triad Theater on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and later presented on Zoom in 2021 and 2020. All COVID safety protocols were followed.
